Pauline Hanson wants special needs kids removed from classrooms
Pauline Hanson under fire for comments about autistic children
The problem I have with is, if you segregate them from the classroom, they will be segregated for life. Ironically, this will also effect (ahem) "normal" kids who will miss their chance to learn that not everyone is the same. Thus breeding yet another generation of ignorance.
Kids need to learn about special needs/autism/aspergers etc. They need to learn that not everyone has the same abilities, not everyone has two arms and two legs, not everyone speaks perfect english.
Unlike adults, kids easly except these things, and if they are exposed to them as kids they will always be accepting and much less likely to be intolerant and prejudiced.
